Tickets normally have two sections on the left called stubs and then a larger righthand section. Section 1 is stapled and forms the ticket book stub, while sections 2 and 3 are torn out of the book and given to the customer who purchases the ticket and these two sections are split upon entry to the venue – the door staff retains the small second stub and the customer retains the larger section as their receipt for the night.
