Professional NCR Printing
NCR stands for “No Carbon Required”. It refers to the traditional (and messier) blue carbon paper that was used before NCR sets. NCR sets consist of paper that has been treated to instantly create copies beneath the original in a quick and simple way.
Printed NCR sets typically consist of two, three, or four different coloured pages layered in order. A user will handwrite onto the top (usually white) copy, and the face of the second sheet will react to the pressure of the pen to form a permanent mark. NCR pads feature a cardboard cover to place beneath each set during use to avoid transferring to too many pages.
NCR sets are ideal for a wide range of industries to use at home, in the office, and when mobile. They are often personalised with company branding, contact details, department names, signature lines, and much more, making them perfect for all kinds of specific uses depending on your requirements.
What Are NCR Sets Used For?
People often use NCR sets at offices, warehouses, in hospitality, retail, and other stores or eateries when receiving goods, deliveries, weighbridge tickets, and more. They can also be used for reporting accidents in the workplace or transfers between departments in shopping centres or service stations.
Printed NCR sets are suitable for all situations where businesses require multiple and instant copies of what is being written. They also come in a convenient size for travelling with, making it easy for mobile workers to make duplicate or triplicate copies of important documentation while on the road.

What does NCR mean in printing?
NCR stands for “No Carbon Required” and is an effective substitute for messy blue carbon copy paper, allowing you to make duplicates of your writing quickly and accurately.
What is an NCR book?
An NCR set typically consists of two or three sheets of carbonless paper, where the top sheet is a white sheet for writing or printing onto and the sheets beneath are coloured copies.
An NCR pad (glued) or book (stapled) is a bound collection of NCR sets. These will normally include a cardboard flap to place beneath each set during use to ensure the markings do not transfer to another set.
How does NCR paper work?
Carbonless paper has micro-encapsulated dye or ink on the back of the top (typically white) sheet and a clay coating on the front of the bottom (coloured) sheets.
When pressure is applied from writing or impact printing, the dye capsules break and react with the clay to replicate the markings made on the white sheet.
Can you print on NCR paper?
Yes! Carbonless paper is suitable for handwriting or laser printing, depending on your needs. Please contact us to see if your printer or copier is compatible with our NCR sets.
